Item Description

Sculptural old-time copper with calcite and epidote from Copper Country and the Sal Avella Collection. One side of this facinating piece has an etched interior with bright patina and a folded over left "limb". One piece of glassy calcite is visible with a large fragment of calcite attached to the "sail" on top. It looks like a partial copper "skull", with the molten copper dissolving away the calcite. The other side has embedded calcite with a rich coating of light green epidote. Showy and old-time combination material from the historic locale.
