Item Description

This thumbnail sized specimen has the famous pseudo-hexagonal (it's actually twinned) form of the preexisting Aragonite which has been completely pseudomorphed by native Copper. This is the only place in the world where Copper pseudomorphs after Aragonite to the best of my knowledge. Due to the oxidation of the exterior faces, the piece has areas of pale green Malachite and reddish Cuprite all over. There has not been any significant amount of these specimens on the market in many years, and they are often only found in old collections. Valued at $500 retail. A classic and eye-catching specimen of the famous pseudomorphs of Copper after Aragonite from Corocoro. From the noted pseudomorph collection of Dr. Wouter van Tichelen of Belgium.
