Item Description

Here is a very attractive small cabinet size specimen of the famous pseudomorphs of Copper after Aragonite from Corocoro. These specimens are well known from Bolivia for their great shape and color, and this piece has the classic and unique pseudohexagonal form that has made these pieces some of the most well known and highly sought after pseudomorphs around. This specimen is a fine example of this material, featuring a pseudomorph with sharp faces, but the fact that it's sitting on a thin sheet of Copper, thereby creating a rarely seen MATRIX SPECIMEN is truly signficant for this locality. There hasn't been a good amount of these specimens on the market in approximately 25 years, and they are often only found in old collections, and to have a specimen like this on matrix is REALLY impressive. Valued at $350 retail.
