Item Description

A very rare pseudomorph combination specimen from Copper Country. Native copper has pseudomorphed sharp prismatic laumontite crystals to 1.0 mm. There is a solitary 1.0 cm gemmy crystal that we believe is quartz (although it really looks like fluorapatite which is just not reported from this mine), at the base. Laumontite specimens, themselves, are not that common from the Keweenaw and this piece has a superb crystal showing the copper replcement, isolated aesthetically atop. An exceptional, rare and important old-time pseudo combination from the Keweenaw. Ex Bob Whitmore Collection. Value?
