Item Description

This well-known Bolivian copper mining district is famous for its unique native copper pseudomorphs after aragonite. Copper has replaced a large, sharp, tabular, hexagonal aragonite crystal. The green malachite on all sides adds color and pizzazz. Most of the white material on one side is tack. This is a very fine, larger than normal example of the species and locale from the Art Soregaroli Collection. Most such pseudos are under 2.0 cm.
