Item Description

A wonderful example of this classic material from the famous old Central Mine that closed back in 1898. The piece features a beautiful, sharp, well-formed crystal of Copper measuring 6 mm across with a lovely antique patina that is sitting among sparkling / drusy slightly pinkish colored (from Copper inclusions) Quartz crystals on host rock matrix. The combination of Copper on Quartz like this is hard to find from the Central Mine. I can only remember seeing a few of these over the years, as opposed to the much more common association of Copper with Calcite from the Upper Peninsula. Valued at $500.
