Item Description

This is quite possibly the best Copper on Cuprite specimen that we've ever had to offer from the Fengjiashan Mine in the auctions. Typically, the Copper specimens from this locality are not on matrix, and the Cuprite is often seen as a minor coating atop the Copper. This piece however is a notably different style featuring a fine quality, arborescent group of brightly colored Native Copper measuring 2.5 cm across, aesthetically perched atop sparkling, crystallized, dark reddish-black Cuprite on oxidized matrix. I love the way the piece presents, with this fantastic "tree" of Copper beautifully nestled among the Cuprite. A fantastic showy display specimen for any fan of native elements, or minerals from China. The piece was mined circa 2005, and comes out of the collection of Brian Kosnar. Valued at $2,000 retail.
