Copper on and included in Calcite

Item Description

Very fine intergrown cluster of partially gemmy Calcite crystals up 1.5 cm tall and 1.8 cm across. All the terminations have superb luster, while the prism faces are both mirror-smooth and finely striated. Arborescent Copper winds its way along the top of the Calcites, and is included within. Also, there is very fine copper (or maybe hematite?) within the Calcites, which combines to create a bright red internal glow. Aesthetic, and unusual for this well-known locality.
