Item Description
A classic, old-time CABINET specimen of nearly solid, sharply crystallized copper from the famous Champion Mine of Michigan. Spinel-twins (some very elongated) and tetrahexahedral crystals comprise this very showy and rich specimen. The crystals have a very nice patina. Every turn of this fine old-timer presents an entirely different view of sharply crystallized copper. The Champion Mine had a long history, opening in 1899 and finally closing in 1967. 856 grams or nearly 1.9 pounds. Ex Dennis Mullane Collection. Richly crystallized Copper Country specimens of this size and quality are not that common. Valued at $1200-1500.
