Item Description

Sturdy and dramatic crystallized Copper with an engaging aesthetic form and distinguished patina. The specimen is festooned with Copper crystal after Copper crystal some as large as 8 mm. The piece is slightly brighter towards the bottom and on one lower side. There appears to have been a later secondary Copper growth phase as a number of crystals have tiny sharp well formed Copper crystals sporadically across the piece. These show up as tiny “bump” features until magnified. The piece sits on its own with a form reminiscent of an animal profile showing a head and torso. A super Copper from the Onganja Mine out of the A.L. Kidwell Collection who purchased the specimen in 1975. Mass 129 grams Ex. A.L. Kidwell Collection, purchased in 1975.
