Item Description
Most people are familiar with the Copper pseudomorphs after Aragonite from this locality, but to find non-pseudomorphic, crystalline native Copper is rather rare. This aesthetic, "fan"-like "leaf" of Copper is a great aesthetic display specimen from this historic locality. I have never seen Copper specimens like this from Corocoro, and this particular specimen was mined in early 2011). It almost resembles some form of aquatic sea life, like coral, and I've even heard them compared to ginko leaves. This piece is one of the more interesting and one-of-a-kind specimens from Corocoro that I have offered due to it's interesting shape. Good Bolivian Coppers are not common on the market, and I'm told that the locality was recently purchased by a Korean mining company, so collecting and obtaining specimens will become very difficult in the future. If you're a Copper collector, I'm certain that you do not have one of these in your collection. Valued at $375.
