Item Description
A remarkable old classic display specimen of Copper from Bisbee featuring a solid, hefty, lage, crystallized / crystalline group with no associated minerals or matrix to speak of. This is truly a big piece of Copper weighing in at 1,774 grams (nearly 4 pounds!), but it's not just a chunk of ore, as it has definition of crystals, character and three-dimensional form. The piece shows a mix of "sponge"-like crystalline Copper mixed with semi-arborescent growths along with distorted crystals measuring up to 1.2 cm that show modified dodecahedral faces. The piece has a lovely patina with an antique feel to it, and for good reason as the piece was mined many years ago and comes with an old historic label from the famous old dealership of Ward's in Rochester, NY along with a hand-written label from beloved collector and dealer, Sal Avella of Smithfield, Rhode Island. Priced at $3,250 in the inventory. Due to the LARGER SIZE AND WEIGHT of this piece, there will be an ADDITIONAL SHIPPING CHARGE. Please keep this in mind when bidding. If you have any questions, please ask before placing your bids. Thank you.
