Copper included in Calcite (classic material)

The Upper Peninsula of Michigan is regarded among the greatest sources for producing the finest crystals of Copper ever found. Outside of the Copper specimens themselves, some of the most well-known specimens are the beautiful crystals of Calcite which are included with native copper. This toenail sized specimen features a few fine, sharp, translucent to gemmy, lustrous, copper-tinted Calcite scalenohedrons free of matrix. This was probably collected between 70-100 years ago. I love the fact that the metallic rosy-pinkish color of the Copper inclusions can be seen floating inside the Calcites, which is a nice contrast against the aged patina you'll see on Copper that has been exposed to the air. The largest Calcite measures 2.0 cm, and for the most part, the piece is in great shape on the front/display side. Beautiful, classic and fairly uncommon on the market nowadays.
