Item Description

A classic and excellent old-time combination miniature from Copper Country. A 3.2 cm very glassy, water-clear to translucent calcite scalenohedron with striking stepped-growth faces is included with copper with a nice bright patina. The calcite is aesthetically attached to a 2.5 cm sharp copper crystal with a rich coppery patina. Analcime crystals, epidote and malachite are colorful accessories on this cute 360-degree combination. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 3592 and acquired from from itinerant California dealer, Burton Jirgl, in the mid-1960s. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien-Welt" November-December 2017). A very fine miniature combination from this renowned locale.
