In the mineral world, Michigan is best known for its amazing crystallized Copper specimens, which are beloved worldwide for the impressive crystallization and large displayable specimens. Here is a fine example of these well-crystallized, display quality Copper specimens from the famous Caledonia Mine, which produced some truly impressive specimens. The piece hosts several large, robust, well-formed modified crystals measuring up to 3.4 cm across, intergrown to create this excellent small cabinet display specimen. Smaller crystallized "arms" are flaring off the bottom of the piece, but create a wonderful balance between the larger crystals at the top. The piece is not only sculptural and showy, but it has a fantastic antique patina on the surface, which is a very desirable attribute that collectors look for in Michigan Coppers. Minor pistachio green Epidote can be seen on the reverse side for a nice touch. No damage that I can see on the front, but there is a small "rub" on the back where it appears the piece might have been contacted by a tool (?) as it's smooth and brighter than the rest of the surrounding Copper. A fantastic example of these classic and highly sought after specimens from Michigan. Priced in the inventory at $5,000.
