The Itauz Mine in Kazakhstan has produced some of the finest crystallized Coppers ever seen. This small cabinet specimen is particularly wonderful, with a fine, feather-like form that is rife with sharp, perfectly-formed, spinel-twin Copper crystals. The detailing is so intricate and so perfect that it really looks like a master weaver made this ‘herringbone’ pattern with the crystals. Production of specimens at the mine is totally at the mercy of the strip mining, and the good fortunes that may come with crossing, and collecting, any crystallized zones. Pieces this quality, therefore, were rare and continue to be so. This is , for size class, a real killer, with gorgeous aesthetics and outstanding form, and we valued it highly.
