Item Description
Please note, this specimen is labeled as coming from the "Total Wreck Mine, Bisbee, Arizona". Now the Total Wreck Mine isn't anywhere near Bisbee, and I can't remember seeing a single specimen of Copper from this locality. The piece may be from Bisbee, but it also looks like pieces from the Ray Mine as well. If any Arizona or Copper experts can give us a little insight as to specifically where this piece might be from, please let us know. With that said, this specimen is a showy overall display piece featuring a group of crystallized Copper in an almost "plant"-like formation, with a few broader, compressed "leaf"-like crystals mixed in, sitting on oxidized matrix. The piece is fun to view up close with a loupe or under the microscope. From the collection of Gerry Morvell.
