Copper crystals on Mimetite

An unusual specimen, of an association I have simply not seen before - tiny specks of copper are crystallized atop cauliflower-like growths of rich yellow mimetite. The copper is colored green due to oxidation patina. A large, hefty specimen that is bigger in person than it seems from the photos, for what that is worth, this is really mesmerizing and complex to look at in person. Unusual - but that is the amazing thing about Tsumeb, which continues to surprise all of us! From an old Tsumeb collection we purchased and dispersed about a decade ago, this is a unique item, and remains something special to this day. The color, shape, and form of teh piece make it really leap out.
