A true classic from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, home to one of the richest Copper deposits in the world, along with some of the finest crystallized specimens of the species extant. This showy and dramatic three-dimensional display specimen is a great representation of these instantly recognizable treasures. The combination of the sculptural form along with rich antique patina not only gives the piece character, but an almost distinguished feeling, as it was most certainly mined 100+ years ago. I love how the crystalline branching "arms" can be seen flaring in several directions on the piece, along with the distinct euhedral dodecahedral crystals measuring up to 1.4 cm across. The piece displays wonderfully from several angles and you can literally turn it on each side to create a new viewing experience. The piece weighs 48.19 grams. Priced at $1,800 for the impressive aesthetics and the fact that these are some of the most beloved Copper specimens from any locality in the western Hemisphere. From the collection of Joan Abella i Creus, who label states that it obtained from Andy Seibel and was formerly in the collection of L. Largo Valten of Italy.
