Item Description
Beautiful and artistic clayey masses of turquoise-blue copper-rich Halloysite are attractively visible on three sides of the sculptural contrasting small cabinet matrix. This rare and colorful specimen is from the well-known extinct As-Cu-Au-Pb-Ag-Zn-W-Ba (baryte) Gold Hill Mine of Utah. Halloysite is a member of the Kaolinite Subgroup of clay minerals and is the polymorph of Dickite, Kaolinite and Nacrite (MINDAT). Ex Chet Lemanski Collection and acquired in 1991. A fine, rare and rich example from the locale.
