Copper-bearing Descloizite

Item Description

A glistening, elongate and hefty specimen composed of a myriad of Copper-bearing Descloizite crystals from the Berg Aukas Mine. This dramatic Descloizite has richly clustered, super lustrous crystals averaging close to a centimeter in size that completely cover the display surface resulting in what is a multitude of bronze colored mirrors. The gleaming crystals display prominently on a iron-stained silicified matrix. Although the labels indicate this is "Cuprodescloizite" there is no analysis that accompanies the piece and we cannot find a reference to it at this locality so we are calling it Copper-bearing Descloizite although it lacks the usual olive green color for that varietal. This piece displays well in the vertical or horizontal position.
