Copper-bearing Adamite

Item Description

This outstanding and dramatic adamite specimen displays a rich, copper-induced green color—a highly desirable hue within the adamite family—accompanied by a colorless calcite rhombohedron. This is a full-sized thumbnail specimen, completely free of damage, with only a light coating of iron oxide on the lower crystals. The adamite crystals are highly lustrous and exhibit strong fluorescence under UV light. While most collectors are familiar with the yellow pinwheel adamites from Ojuela, these rare copper-bearing green specimens are far less common, making this piece a remarkable addition to any collection.
