Item Description
Sculptural and attractive for the location where native copper specimens are actually quite rare despite the massive copper deposit there, this small cabinet piece is composed of flattened, crystallized Copper from the famous Morenci Mine. The arborescent habit for the crystallization is excellent and showy for what it is. One thing I really like about this piece is that it has retained its original patina, not having been acid-cleaned like many specimens. From the extensive collection of Bob Reynolds, who cherished both minerals and fossils as he collected. Bob is a prolific author and has had several curating positions in museums. Previously in the James Underhill (not related to the hobbits on the run, I don't think...) collection.
