Item Description

A sculptural, floater, arborescent, branching copper crystal cluster from this less well-known and extinct Nevada precious metal and polymetalic mining district. The specimen has an overall spinel-twinned form and is comprised of sharp tetrahexahedral crystals with a nice variable patina. The embedded quartz matrix adds contrast and pizzazz. The piece looks great from either side. Mountain City coppers are an uncommon and notable Nevada species with very fine form. They resemble coppers from Michigan or Arizona.
