Sculptural, 360-degree, old-time, nearly solid mass of copper from one of the mines in Houghton County of Michigan's historic Copper Country. The impressive piece is a fracture filling in the remnant, off-white, soft material embedded in the copper, probably dissolved datolite or analcime. Remnant green malachite is also present. Copper botryoids and a few, small, scattered subhedral copper crystals are noted. 881 grams or 1.9 pounds mass. Ex Kurt Hefendehl Collection, a well-known German collector who amassed a world-wide collection of over 6000 pieces. Showy and rich large copper with accessories from the famous Keweenaw Peninsula.
