Many nice Coppers have been recovered from the Chino Mine in New Mexico, however, "fans" of Copper like this one are few and far between! This is a beautiful, largely two-dimensional, arborescent display of crystalline Copper with two main structures that have hundreds of densely-packed crystals ending in finger-like tendrils at the periphery. There are scores of individual Copper crystals on each individual dendrite that range in size from 1 to 4 mm, and many are spinel twins. This is just an incredibly artistic and aesthetic piece that measures four and half inches tall and four inches across with so many intricate branches everywhere. There is some coppery sheen that shows through in the recesses with the remainder of the piece having copper-red patina. There is even some minor Calcite coating a few of the outermost dendrites. Just a gorgeous Copper from this notable copper mine in New Mexico. Valued $2000-plus.
