Item Description

A member of the Chlorite Group, Cookeite is an Al-Li silicate that is almost unheard of coming from Pakistan. And in this case, the specimen is choice. The Cookeite is pseudomorphed after Tourmaline, with the original Tourmaline form preserved perfectly. In fact, the underlying gemmy Tourmaline is exposed in two places: one a fracture and one an actual termination. Actually seeing this adds much more to the specimen mineralogically. To my knowledge, this is a very rare occurance from Pakistan, and it is aesthetic and exceptional on top of that. Unusual!
