Item Description
Colusite is a rare copper, vanadium, arsenic, tin, antimony sulfide and is the only mineral species that Butte is the Type Locality for. Rich bright to dull bronze to brassy metallic masses and microcrystals are scattered on all sides of the quartz-rich blocky matrix. Well-developed crystals of colusite are rare to uncommon, at best, from the famous mines at Butte. Rich material, seldom on the market. Undoubtably older material, but no proof. Excellent material from the Bob Trimingham Collection.
