Item Description
Mineral specimens are RARE from this Virginia county and are also rare from this obscure pegmatite mine. This is a very sharp, complete all-around, lustrous metallic-black, tabular columbite-tantalite crystal. The ends on the well-terminated crystal show the crystal layering. An outstanding and rare example of niobium-tantalum from Virginia. Probably older maerial, but no proof. Valued at $250 by the former dealer.
