Item Description

Wow, a really good example of the "Ferrocolumbites" from the locally well known Devil's Hole Quarry in southern central Colorado. I've only seen a few of these pieces over the years, and this is about as good as I've seen for size and quality. It's certainly bigger than anything I can remember seeing. It has textbook blocky form with relatively sharp faces and that "off-black" coloration that is associated with these specimens. The front / top / display side of the piece is nearly damage free with only a minor "rub" on one corner. If you collect Colorado minerals, thumbnails, or niobates, don't miss out on this more than worthwhile example of this hard to find material.
