Color-zoned Fluorite with Hyalite Opal

Striking, intergrown, sharp, color-zoned, satin luster, fluorite cuboctahedrons comprise this very showy and sculptural small cabinet from this less well-known Ag-Pb-Zn deposit in Inner Mongolia. The imposing, dominating large flat-topped "pyramid" crystal is 4.5 x 4.5 x 2.8 cm. The crystals are transparent to translucent. Bright light and back lighting reveals beautiful, sharp, rich emerald-green, color-zoned interiors below the colorless outer zones. Included splotches of purple fluorite add color, contrast and interest, The noted periphery wear is certainly acceptable. Cuboctahedrons are less common than cubes from this locale. The colorless and green fluorite fluoresces moderate purplish-white under LW UV light. And a surprising BONUS under SW UV light - one side has patches of neon-green mineral which we believe is Hyalite Opal. Uncommon, sculptural and unusually interesting fluorite from the locale with a Hyalite Opal bonus.
