Item Description
Classic color-zoned fluorite cubes are aesthetically mounded on this sculptural, exceptional small cabinet from the famous Minerva Mine. The cubes have rich golden-amber translucent to transparent interiors highlighted by narrow violet and beautiful sky-blue edge phantoms. The cubes have striking stepped-growth faces with satin lustre. The impressive crestal cube is 3.5 x 3.4 x 2.7 cm. Backlighting reveals subtle interior phantoms and accentuates the rich golden hue. Essentially pristine, with only a couple of trivial edge wilbers. UV light reveals a nice surprise, showing rich yellow hydrocarbon fluorescence. This exquisite and exceptional Illinois fluorite has multiple display possibilities and is valued at $2500.
