Color-zoned Fluorite w/ Chalcopyrite (Ross Lillie Coll.)

Item Description

Sparkly sharp golden chalcopyrite crystal are richly peppered on this large sculptural cluster of intergrown color-zoned translucent fluorite cubes from the famous Denton Mine. The amber core is clearly evident inside the rich purple interiors surrounded by the dark purple and beautiful light blue edge phantoms. The lustrous cubes reach 6.6 cm and have frosted stepped-growth faces. The piece displays very well from either side. Choice combination material from the Ross Lillie Collection # 0426 and mined in December, 1989 from the south end of the Joyner-Hirsch pod.
