Item Description
An impressive and aesthetic, large, old-time combination piece from this famous locale. The glassy, color-zoned, translucent, rich golden-amber fluorite cubes, to 3.2 cm, have beautiful, gemmy, powder-blue edge phantoms. The striking cluster of modified, tan calcite scalenohedrons with creamy strontianites are a super accent. There is lavender fluorite on an edge and on the contacted back. A bit of bruising and periphery wear are noted, but certainly have minimal impact to the high quality of this fine piece. The Bob Trimingham label says "Mahoning Mine", dating the piece to the 1940s to 60s, prior to the merger of the Ozark and Mahoning companies and calling the mine Minerva No. 1. He acquired the piece in 1968. DRAMATIC fluorescent patterns on all species! Value???
