Item Description

Intergrown mounded color-zoned purple fluorite cubes are attractively accented with patches of contrasting gemmy, colorless calcite rhombs on this showy and excellent 360-degree combination from the famous Denton Mine. The highly lustrous, translucent cubes, to 3.2 cm, appear a rich grape-purple on normal light. The impressive color-zoning is clearly evident, when the cubes are backlit! Now you see the rich sky-blue cores surrounded by multi-hued purple edge phantoms. The underlying matrix is microcrystalline rubyjack sphalerite. Complete all-around, the mound is pristine. The basal periphery wear is certainly only a modest detraction to this classic Denton Mine combination from the Ross Lillie Collection # 1250. Mined in June, 1993 from a new "orebody north extension of the Bahama pod." BETTER IN PERSON. Valued at $750.
