Item Description

Mineral specimens are RARE from this obscure Illinois fluorite mine. Striking color-zoned fluorite cubes, to 2.3 cm, are dramatically clustered along one face of the impressive large milky calcite scalenohedron. The cubes are transparent to translucent, have water-clear to frosted faces and have striking light blue outer zones around the lavender to dark purple interior phantoms. One side of the calcite and adjacent fluorites are contacted, but this remains a large, rare and excellent combination of the species and uncommon locale. Two-toned fluorescence on the fluorite and modest orange-pink on the calcite.
