Item Description

A really colorful and aesthetic bi-colored fluorite specimen from the Mex-Tex Mine, very near the famous Blanchard Mine. This striking older piece has rare colors for the locale. The translucent, lustrous, stepped-growth cubes have powder-blue cores with fabulous rich purple edges and are nicely accented by a few quartz crystals. The large cube is 4.2 cm and has just a bit of edge wear. The backlit photo really brings out the glorious colors. The T.M. Phetteplace label has a 1958 date. Ex Chris Cowan Collection. Very fine older Mex-Tex fluorite. Moderate purple fluorescence.
