Item Description
Fluorite specimens from the much less well-known Kavalerovo Mining District, near Dal'negorsk, Russia are much rarer than from the much more famous nearby Dal'negorsk mines. Three sharp, very distinctive and diagnostic, color-zoned, apple-green fluorite octahedrons to 3.0 x 2.6 cm are aesthetically set on columnar quartz covered with small pastel-green fluorite octos. The fluorites are nicely translucent and the lightly frosted crystal faces have moderate luster. Specimens of this quality came out in the early 1990s, with none since. Highly desirable Russian fluorites. Pretty light purple fluorescence. Valued at $750-800.
