Color-zoned Fluorite (New Find)

An impressive 4.8 cm on edge fluorite cube dominates this striking and colorful large combination plate from China. The sculptural plate is richly and aesthetically covered with surreal color-zoned cubes with are dramatically contrasted by the unusual and rare oxide-tinted drusy quartz matrix. Stunning dark purple edge phantoms colorfully outline the starkly contrasting pretty light mint-green translucent fluorite cubes with satin lustre faces. The shocking cubes reach 4.6 cm on edge and this is by FAR the largest cube on a specimen from the lot we received. This is an outstanding example from a New Find at this well-known antimony-gold mine, which we cherrypicked when I was in China last June. Specimens of this unique style have trickled out from the mine over the last 10 years, but never in any quantity or size like this, until this one pocket. Nearly pristine, except for very minor and acceptable periphery wear at some edges and a corner. Purple fluorescence. An exceptional RARE large example with a very large cube and rare contrasting oxide-tinted drusy quartz from the small lot we just received.
