Item Description

Excellent fluorite specimens are well-known, but are less common, from this more obscure Cave-in-Rock area mine. This is a striking intergrown cluster of gemmy, sharply color-zoned cubes with nifty stepped-growth faces. The golden-amber cores are dramatically framed by the purple and beautiful light blue edge phantoms. Purple fluorescence. Collected in September, 1970 by Robert Bartsch. Bartsch was a noted California field collector and collector. He passed away in 2014 and here is a link to a fine article written by his friend, Rock Currier: http://www.mindat.org/article.php/2158/Robert+Bartsch+++RIP++1939+to+2014.
