Item Description
Intergrown color-zoned fluorite cubes form an impressive, sculptural and surprising large two-sided plate from the famous Cave-in-Rock District. The translucent, lustrous cubes, to 3.8 cm, have grayish-purple exteriors with subtle purple edge phantoms, rich grape-purple interior phantoms and frosted stepped-growth faces. Preferential coatings of tiny, glassy calcite scalenohedrons on the front are a fine and typical accent. SURPRISINGLY, the back is nearly totally covered with calcites! This sculptural large piece displays well from either direction and is pristine. A choice and excellent large fluorite combination from the Paul Zerfass Collection # 369. Purple fluorescence.
