Item Description

An outstanding large fluorite specimen from this famous Chinese locality. Beautiful, gem, mint-green cubes have sharp darker edge phantoms with nifty interior veils and are very aesthetically perched along the crest of the matrix wedge. The impressive large cube is 2.8 x 2.7 x 2.3 cm. These crystals and the many more on the back display a striking difference! These crystal faces all have tan to gray-green, translucent phantoms beneath the gem faces, perhaps caused by the iron oxides coating most of the back. The small edge cube really highlights the super crystal gemminess and the darker edge phantom. The rich purple fluorescence even reflects the variations from the phantoms. This super piece has amazing display quality and is nearly pristine. A trivial bit of upper edge wear is noted on the front of the large cube and the isolated cube on the lower left, front has a cleaved corner. Pieces of this fine quality are normally reserved for the Gallery. A very classy, glassy and highly unusual fluorite spiker fairly valued at $2000.
