Item Description
A deceptive and showy bi-colored fluorite plate from this old lead mine, that was active from 1850-1884. Backlighting reveals that the intergrown translucent, waxy luster cubes have light amber interiors surrounded by pretty broad lavender edge phantoms. The cubes reach 2.3 cm and only one bruised edge is noted in the interior. Recently, a group of collector/dealers have rehabilitated a shaft accessing the mine and have recovered some large crystals of deep purple, and amber/purple zoned, fluorite (MINDAT). Excellent material from the recent finds at this classic locale. BRIGHT purple fluorescence!
