A classic, color-zoned fluorite thumbnail from the famous Auglaize Quarry of Ohio. The highly lustrous, transparent to translucent cube has intense, stepped-growth faces, giving a shimmering, scintillating look. The variable very rich grape-purple interior is surrounded by colorless fluorite. The striking display face is nearly pristine, with only trivial contacting at the base and very trivial edge wear on the lower right edge. The contacting on the back is mostly out of sight. Outstanding older material from the George Feist Collection. Valued at $500. these are VERY rare and hard to obtain, and this is a large crystal with outstanding color!
