Item Description
Impressive and sculptural large fluorite, barite and calcite from an unknown mine in the famous Cave-in-Rock District of Hardin County. Starkly contrasting, pearlescent bladed snow-white barite rosettes are richly peppered on the intergrown fluorite cubes, that are dramatically accented with the pristine 5.3 cm amber calcite scalenohedron. Dominated by the large 5.5 cm fluorite cube, the purple cubes have satin lustre faces. BUT, backlighting reveals violet interiors with beautiful broad baby-blue edge phantoms accented with a single narrow violet phantom. Complete all-around and nearly pristine, with only modest edge bruising to the large cube. The calcite is pristine. A classic, aesthetic and excellent large 360-degree combination from Cave-in-Rock. Very modest purple fluorescence, BUT some yellow hydrocarbon fluorecence is present.
