Color-zoned Fluorite

An impressive and sculptural, large color-zoned, three-sided, fluorite knob from the famous Shangbao Mine. Very glassy, transparent, light lavender cuboctahedrons, to 3.5 cm, have mostly densely stepped-growth faces. Many of the crystals are beautifully and colorfully accented with violet cores. Some crystals have water-clear faces, that reveal that the violet cores have unusual narrow violet lines radiating out from the cores. A fascinating, pristine and sculptural large piece. MUCH BETTER IN PERSON, as the glassiness, transparency and form made photography difficult. The piece has multiple display possibilities. Valued at $2000+.
