Item Description
Dramatic, sharp, 3.8 x 3.7 x 3.6 cm, color-zoned fluorite cube dominates this sculptural small cabinet from the Green Toad Pocket at the Lady Annabella Mine at famed Weardale. BACKLIGHTING highlights the stunning color-zoning of the large, lustrous gemmy to translucent cube with green, blue, colorless and brown edge phantoms surrounding the large light brown core. Frosting, etching and stepped-growth really highlight and accentuate the crystal faces. The base of the piece is massive, translucent, light brown fluorite. A bit of corner and edge wear to the top corner of the cube is a modest detraction and is nearly out-of-sight. Purple LW UV fluorescence. From a USA collector who diligently acquired specimens from every pocket. Striking and fascinating color-zoned fluorite from the mine.
