Item Description

An impressive, color-zoned barite specimen from this well-known historic mine (opened in 1726 and still operating). The spearpoint blades on the front of this striking cluster are included-with and coated-with yellow-brown, iron oxides, while on the sides and back the crystals are lustrous and translucent and have classic blue-gray color. The color zonation is very sharp on these barites and is typical for barites from this classic locale. A striking and excellent 360-degree specimen from the Al Ordway Collection # 2838 and purchased in 2000.
