Garnets are incredibly popular in among collectors, dealers and jewelers because they occur in virtually every color of the rainbow. You can find Garnets in all shades including the incredibly hard to find true blue color. Some of the most highly sought after and attractive Garnets out there are the color change stones from East Africa. This material is probably a mix of two or more Garnet species, as testing is showing that they very few of them are purely a single species. The gem has a very attractive rich reddish-pink color in indoor lighting, and changes to a pink color (with a slight golden overtone) in sunlight. This color change is very difficult to find in most gemstones. The cut on this stone is an "Oval Brilliant" cut. The stone is virtually eye clean. A highly valued gem on the market today.
