Item Description

A dramatically formed CABINET pseudomorph of colemanite after a large inyoite crystal from Boron, California. The pseudo is shaped like a big, 3-dimensional "checkmark", when viewed at the proper angle and proudly rests on a clayey matrix. The pseudo and matrix surface are uniformly covered with lustrous, white, 3-4 mm, colemanite crystals. The major crystal is essentially pristine and the contacting on either side of the base of the crystal is certainly not detracting from this very showy and LARGE, classic specimen. Older material, as this piece is from the Margaret Gross Collection of Valley Center, California. This collection consisted mainly of 1950s-1980s material.
